Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup raw halved pecans
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the pecans and transfer to a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients besides the olive oil and bay leaves. Stir until fully combined.
  2. Add the oil to a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once oil is hot, add the pecan mixture. Then, add the bay leaves and stir together.

  3. Cook for 5 minutes and stir occasionally to avoid burning.

  4. Remove bay leaves and discard.

  5. Serve pecan chorizo warm and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
