Peach Basil Jam (V/GF)

Jam is definitely one of my top favorite things to make (and eat). Throwing it in sweets, on top of burgers and straight into my mouth, jam makes everything better!

This Peach Basil Jam is the best of the best. It’s sweet, juicy and has a refreshing herbal note from the fresh basil.

It comes together in 15 minutes or less and it only takes FIVE ingredients!

It contains no pectin or cane sugar. Instead, it’s made with wholesome ingredients like fresh peaches, fresh basil, lemon juice, pure maple syrup and chia seeds.

Oh yeah, have I mention how amazingly delicious this jam is with avocado?! I often scoop this jam into the holes of an avocado and dig in with a spoon. Makes a killer quick breakfast or snack!

Peach Basil Jam (V/GF)

Ingredients

  • 2 cup fresh chopped peaches , skin and pit removed
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil , finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Coat the peaches with maple syrup and lemon.

  2. Place chopped peaches to a pot or saucepan and coat the fruit with the maple syrup and lemon juice. Then, add the basil. Stir to combine.

  3. Heat over medium/low heat until the peaches turns soft and starts bubbling, about 5 minutes.

  4. Reduce heat slightly and lightly smash fruit with a fork.

  5. Add chia seeds and stir until combined.

  6. Bring heat back to med/low and let bubble until jam thickens, about 5-10 minutes. Make sure to stir every once in awhile to avoid burning!

  7. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to jars.

  8. Enjoy!! Store in fridge up to 2 weeks.
